Collaboration

Everyone in a workspace works on the same launches at the same time, and so do agents. This page covers seeing who else is there, talking in comments, your Inbox, working offline, and what happens when two people change the same thing.

Live presence

Open a launch and the header shows who else is in it right now, as small avatars. Hover them to read the names. Up to 4 show; a +2 counts the rest.

People show their initials.
Agents and API keys show AI. Their name says who they work for and how they're connected: "Agent for Anna" is Pluto's Agent working for Anna, and "Claude via Anna" is Claude, connected by Anna signing in from her own client. Agent credentials end in via MCP ("Reporting agent via MCP") and API keys in via API ("CI key via API").

When someone has an ad open, its card on the board says Anna is editing (or 2 people editing). Inside an ad, avatars in its header show who else is looking at it, and a quiet line under the ad name says what they are doing: Bo is editing headline, Bo is writing a comment.

Presence is live. It needs a connection, so offline you see nobody.

Comments

Every ad has an Activity section below its fields. Write in Leave a comment... and post with the arrow button or Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows). A comment you're writing saves offline and posts when you reconnect. Replies stay in their thread: use Reply on a comment, or write in Leave a reply... under it. Edit a comment in place and choose Save, or press Escape to cancel.

Mentions. Type @ and pick a person from the list; guests are marked Guest. They get a notification in their Inbox. Mentioning a guest (in a comment that isn't internal) shares the launch with guests, and a line under the comment box says so before you post.
Formatting. Cmd+B for bold, Cmd+I for italics.
Attachments. Use the paperclip, Cmd+Shift+A, or drop files on the comment. Attach up to 4 files, 25 MB each: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, PDF or plain text. Attachments need a connection. They are separate from the Media library.
Reactions. Use the smiley button on a comment and pick an emoji. Pick it again to take it back.
Internal. Turn on Internal next to the send button to keep a new thread within your team: guests never see it, its replies or its reactions. Replies follow their thread. Members only; see Guests.

Each comment has a menu:

The first comment of an internal thread shows an Internal label, for members only.

A resolved thread folds into one line marked Resolved. Use Show thread to read it again.

Deleting a comment shows Comment deleted with Undo for 8 seconds. The thread keeps its place and reads This comment was deleted. Agents and the API can restore a deleted comment for up to an hour.

Following an ad

Use Subscribe at the top of an ad's Activity to follow it (in the Inbox, the bell in the ad's header does the same). You then hear about its new comments and changes in your Inbox. Use Unsubscribe to stop. You follow a single thread from its menu the same way.

You follow the ads assigned to you without subscribing. Unsubscribe stops that too.

Inbox

Inbox in the sidebar collects what needs you: mentions, replies, assignments, reviews, changes to ads you follow, changes waiting for your approval, and messages from Pluto Ads and your loops. It updates live and shows one line per ad, its newest notification. Select a notification to open the ad beside the list, at the comment or change it is about, and edit it right there. A change waiting for approval opens for review the same way; a message opens with a button to where it leads, such as Open launch.

On a notification:

Mark as read / Mark as unread.
Snooze notification: For one hour, For three hours or Until tomorrow (24 hours). Snoozed notifications come back when the time is up. Unsnooze brings one back now.
Dismiss notification takes it out of the Inbox. Undo puts it back.

The menu next to the Inbox title has Mark all as read, then Dismiss all, Dismiss all read and Dismiss all completed (notifications about approved ads), and Notification settings. The dismiss actions show Undo, like the single one.

Filter with Add filter (or press F): Notification type, From, Launch and Creative status. Notification types are Change approvals, Reviews, Assignments, Comments and replies, Mentions, Status changes, Tag changes, Content changes, Moves, Published and Messages. Show unread only hides what you have read. Display options sets the Ordering (Newest or Oldest), Show snoozed and Show unread first.

Notification settings

Choose what reaches your Inbox in Settings, Notifications (or Notification settings from the Inbox menu). Every kind is on until you turn it off. Changes save as you make them, offline too.

These settings are yours. They don't change anyone else's Inbox.

Activity history

The Activity section is the ad's history, oldest first. Comment threads sit between the changes, so you can read the conversation in order with what happened. Each change names who made it and when:

Status: "changed status from In review to Approved".
Assignee: "assigned to Bo", "self-assigned".
Tags: "added tag Spring".
Moves: "moved to Broad US".
Publishing: "published the ad".
Content: "edited the creative".

Changes made by agents, loops and API keys carry names that say so, such as "Agent for Anna", "Claude via Anna" or "CI key via API", so you always know it wasn't Anna herself. Changes by Pluto Ads itself read Pluto Ads. Someone who left the workspace shows as Removed member.

An archived ad keeps its conversation. It is read-only until you restore the ad. See Publishing.

Working offline

After your first sign-in on a device, Pluto Ads keeps your workspace on that device. The app opens and works without a connection, and your edits save on the device first.

Offline, you can:

Edit launches, ad sets and ads: names, copy, settings, statuses, assignees and tags, one ad at a time or many at once.
Move ads between ad sets, and delete ads and ad sets.
Write, edit, resolve and delete comments, react, and follow ads and threads.
Change statuses, tags, copy templates and notification settings.

These need a connection, and their buttons are turned off until you are back online: creating a launch, adding creatives, publishing and live changes, uploads and changes in the Media library, comment attachments, sharing a launch with guests, moving ads to another launch, duplicating an ad set, restoring archived items, Meta defaults, members and invitations, API keys and webhooks, the Meta connection, and refreshing Analytics. Hover a turned-off button to read Needs a connection. Your edits still save offline.

Which launches are on the device? The ones you opened recently, ones with ads assigned to you, ones you follow, and the latest drafts, up to 20 launches. They stay for a week after you last used the app. Hovering a launch link also brings that launch onto the device for an hour.

A launch that was never on this device can't open offline. You see This launch isn't on this device yet with Go to launches; connect to open it. Another page you never opened says This page isn't on this device yet.

Sync status

The top bar shows the sync state next to your account menu. It stays quiet: when everything is saved it shows nothing, and so does a quick save, a reconnect or a short Wi-Fi drop.

Label	What it means
Saving...	An upload is taking more than a second.
Offline	The device has had no connection for about 10 seconds. Your edits are saved on this device and sync when you're back online.
Not syncing	The device is online but can't reach Pluto Ads, or uploads keep failing. Your edits are saved on this device and sync as soon as Pluto Ads can be reached.
2 not saved	Pluto Ads turned down some of your edits. See Conflicts.

Select Offline or Not syncing to read what it means, with how many changes are waiting (3 changes waiting to sync). Offline, it also reminds you that publishing, invites and uploads need a connection.

A small dot next to an ad's name, or Waiting to sync in the ad editor, marks an edit that hasn't uploaded yet.

When you reconnect, queued edits upload in the order you made them, then everyone else's changes arrive. You don't need to do anything.

Activity

Uploads, publishing and other long jobs you start show in the top bar while they run, with a short label such as "Publishing 240 ads", and for a few minutes after. Select it to open Activity: one row per job with its progress and time left, Cancel (then Stop or Keep going) and Retry where the job allows them, and a link to where it's followed up. Clear removes finished rows. Jobs you started in other tabs, on other devices or through your agents show too. Uploads run in the tab that started them, so keep that tab open until they finish. A job that doesn't finish also reaches your Inbox.

Conflicts

Pluto Ads tracks every field on its own. When two people change different fields of the same ad, both changes apply, even if one of them was offline. Anna changes the headline on a train while Bo changes the description at his desk: when Anna reconnects, the ad has both.

A conflict happens only when two people change the same field. The first change to reach Pluto Ads wins, and the other one isn't saved. You see it in two places:

In the launch, a banner on the board, or in the ad set or launch settings you were editing, reads Someone else changed "Hook A" first, says their version is shown now and shows the value it has now. Choose Use theirs to accept it, or Retry to write your value on top. Several at once read 3 changes weren't saved.
In the top bar, a button reads 1 not saved. It opens Not saved, a list with one line for each group of identical edits, such as "Hook A" was changed by someone else. Select a line to go to where you made the edit. Point at it for Keep mine (write your edit on top) or Keep their version.

A board card with an edit that wasn't saved shows Not saved.

Edits can also be turned down for other reasons. The line then says why instead of naming a conflict:

When Pluto Ads can't take the edit right now, for example while the launch is publishing, choose Retry or Discard. In the launch, the banner reads Your change to ... wasn't saved with Retry and Keep saved version.
When the edit can never apply, for example because the ad was archived in the meantime or your role no longer allows the change, only Discard is offered.

With several edits listed, Discard all at the top of the list clears them at once, and Retry all sends again every edit that can be retried. Turned down changes to your own preferences, such as notification settings, aren't listed: the saved value simply stays.

Settings that are saved as a whole work the same way. If someone saves Meta defaults or the Agent's model settings while you're editing them, a banner offers Keep mine or Use theirs; an Analytics dashboard offers Keep my layout or Use their layout.

Scripts and agents get the same rule through the API: an edit conflicts only when the same field changed. See Versions and conflicts.

Multiple tabs

You can open Pluto Ads in several tabs. The tabs share one copy of your workspace on the device and one connection, so an edit in one tab shows in the others at once, and each edit uploads once.

Good to know

Signing out clears this device, including edits that haven't synced yet. Wait until the sync status is empty before you sign out.
Signing in needs a connection. After that, the device works offline.
If your session ends while you are offline, the device signs out and clears its data the next time it connects.
Agents see presence too. An agent can check who is in a launch before it makes large changes. See Agents.
