Guests
Guests are the people you ask to review your ads: a client, a brand's marketing lead, an external approver. They're free on every plan and never take a seat. You invite them to the workspaces they review, and in each one they see only what you share with them.
What guests see
A guest sees:
- Launches in the sidebar: the launches shared with guests, with their ad sets, ads and creatives. With nothing shared yet, it reads No launches shared with you.
- The comments on those launches that aren't internal.
- Their Inbox, which is where they land: mentions, replies, assignments and messages about the launches shared with them. Guests are never notified about other launches or internal comments, by the app, by email or by a loop.
- In Settings, only Profile and Notifications.
- Their teammates' names and pictures, never email addresses.
A guest doesn't see other launches, internal comments, loops, the Agent or its chats, analytics, the Media library, integrations, API keys or any other settings. Those pages aren't in their navigation, and links to them open the guest's Inbox instead.
What guests can do
On a launch shared with them, a guest can:
- Comment, reply, react and follow threads.
- Resolve and reopen threads.
- Approve an ad or request changes: set its status to Approved or Changes requested (or the names your workspace uses for them). Other statuses, the assignee and tags are read-only for guests.
A guest can't edit, rename, duplicate, archive or delete anything, upload media, publish, or use the Agent, the API or connected agents. To give someone more, make them a member in Settings, Members; a member takes a paid seat.
Share a launch with guests
Open the launch and use Share in its header. Turn on Share with guests: every guest of the workspace can now review the launch and its comments that aren't internal. The button then reads Guests can view. Turn the switch off to take it back; that also clears guests' Inbox items about the launch. Sharing needs a connection.
Asking a guest to review shares the launch for you:
- Assign one of its ads to a guest.
- Mention a guest in a comment on it (a comment that isn't internal). Before you post, a line under the comment box says so, for example "Mentioning Bo shares this launch with guests".
A new launch isn't shared until you share it or ask a guest to review it, unless the workspace shares new launches with guests.
Share every new launch
When your guests review everything in a workspace, for example an agency whose client is the guest, owners and admins can turn on Share new launches with guests. It's in Settings, on the workspace's Members page, under Guests, and it's off until someone turns it on. Everyone else sees the switch but can't change it.
While it's on, every launch created in the workspace starts shared with guests, whoever creates it: a teammate, a loop, the Agent, a connected agent, a Meta import or a duplicate. Launches that already exist keep their sharing, and you can still stop sharing any one of them from the launch. The Share popover on a launch reminds you that new launches in this workspace start shared.
Internal comments
Some conversations are for your team only. Turn on Internal next to the send button before you post: the thread is internal, and guests never see it, its replies or its reactions. A small Internal label marks the thread for members.
- Replies follow their thread: a reply in an internal thread is internal.
- To change a thread later, use Make internal or Show to guests in its menu. Making a thread internal also clears guests' Inbox items about it.
- You can't mention a guest in an internal comment; they would never see it. Mention them in a comment that isn't internal instead.
Members, admins and owners see every comment, internal or not. Guests don't see the Internal toggle or these menu items.
Invite a guest
In Settings, Members, choose Invite. In Invite people, set Invite as to Guest, enter their email (and a name if you like) and choose Send invitation. In an organization with several workspaces, you can also invite guests from the organization's Members page and pick the workspaces they review. The invitation is accepted when they sign in with that email address and it's verified.
Workspace admins can invite guests. Adding a paid member, or making a guest a member, needs an owner or admin of the organization.
Through the API
Guests use the app; they can't create API keys or connect agents. A member can make a review bot with a
key scoped to review only: it sees exactly what a guest sees. See
Authentication in the API reference.
