Workspaces

A workspace holds one store, brand or client: its launches, media, loops, integrations and people. An organization holds your workspaces, your members and your plan. Agencies usually have a workspace per client, and brands one per brand.

The app uses your organization's word for a workspace, from Who is Pluto for?: client for an agency, brand for several brands, and workspace for one brand. So the buttons below read Add client, Add brand or Add workspace, and the organization's page is called Clients, Brands or Workspaces. See Organization.

This page covers adding, archiving, deleting, exporting and restoring workspaces. Only organization owners and admins can do these.

Add a workspace

Open the account menu (your workspace's name in the top bar) and choose Add client (or Add brand, or Add workspace). With several workspaces, the organization's Clients page in Settings has the same button. Name it and confirm; the dialog says whether it's included in your plan or what it adds. The new workspace opens right away.

Owners and admins reach every workspace at once; members reach the ones they're given. See Members.

Plan limits

Your plan sets how many active workspaces you can have. Archived workspaces don't count.

  • Free trial: 1 workspace. Adding another offers Choose Pro.
  • Pro: up to 5 workspaces (1 included, then a monthly price each). Adding a sixth offers Upgrade to Business.
  • Business: 10 included, then a monthly price each, lower at volume, with no cap. From 100 workspaces, talk to us about volume pricing if you like; it's never required.
  • Enterprise: the workspaces in your agreement, and more at your agreed rate on the next invoice. Nothing is blocked.

With complimentary access that covers a set number of workspaces, choose Talk to sales at that limit to add more. See Billing.

Archive a workspace

Archive a workspace you're done with for now, like a client on pause. From the workspace, open Settings, General, and under Archive or delete choose Archive client (or brand, or workspace). With several workspaces, you can also use the menu on its row on the organization's Clients page.

An archived workspace:

  • Is read-only. Nobody can change it, including API keys and agents. Opening it offers View read-only.
  • Leaves the workspace switcher. It's listed under Archived on the organization's Clients page.
  • Doesn't count toward your plan's workspaces.
  • Stops its loops, and cancels queued publishes and jobs. Ads already live in Meta keep running.
  • Keeps all of its data, media, integrations, API keys and people.

To restore it, choose Restore on its row under Archived, or Restore client when you open it. It comes back as it was. Its loops stay paused until someone turns them back on, so nothing spends money without a person deciding to. Restoring counts the workspace toward your plan again.

You can't archive or delete your organization's last active workspace. To close everything, delete the organization. See Organization.

Delete a workspace

From the workspace, open Settings, General, and under Archive or delete choose Delete client (or brand, or workspace). You can also use Delete client... in the menu on its row on the organization's Clients page, including for an archived one. Type the workspace's name to confirm.

When you delete a workspace:

  • Ads already live in Meta keep running. Nothing is deleted in Meta. Pause or delete them in Meta Ads Manager if you want them to stop.
  • Its loops stop, and queued publishes and jobs are cancelled.
  • Its API keys, agents and webhooks are revoked.
  • Its guests and pending invitations are removed.
  • Meta, Slack and Pluto Profit are disconnected for it.
  • Nobody can open it. Opening it shows when it will be deleted.
  • Its data and media are deleted for good after 30 days.

Organization owners get an email when a workspace is scheduled for deletion and again 3 days before it's deleted. Both have a link to restore it.

Export first

The delete dialog has Export first. It downloads two files:

  • A CSV of the workspace's launches, ad sets and ads, with names, statuses, budgets and Meta IDs.
  • A zip of the original files in its Media library.

You can also export at any time: choose Export client... in the menu on its row on the organization's Clients page, then Download for Ads or Media. Export works until the workspace is deleted for good, also while it's archived or scheduled for deletion.

Restore a deleted workspace

Until the date, an owner or admin can restore it: choose Restore on its row under Archived on the organization's Clients page, Restore client when you open it, or follow the link in the email. It comes back as it was before you deleted it: active, or archived if it was archived. What deleting removed doesn't come back: create new API keys, invite guests again and reconnect Meta, Slack and Pluto Profit. Loops stay paused until someone turns them back on.

After the date, the workspace, its data, its media and its analytics are deleted for good and can't be recovered.

For developers

Archiving, deleting, restoring, listing archived workspaces and exporting follow the same rules in the API and MCP. A credential needs the organization scope. Requests to an archived workspace are refused as archived, and to one scheduled for deletion as deleted. Adding a workspace needs a person: a credential only adds one when it acts for an owner or admin.
